Little Warehouse

Not really any freebies in this one, but I know some of you like seeing builds & decor so I thought I’d put this up here. The build is Bauwerk‘s litttle warehouse skybox, which is Mesh (land impact of 44 prims) and features high ceilings, exposed ventilation and monumental florescent style lighting that is fully and individually controllable via a central panel. Notably the intensity of each fixture can be set so you don’t overpower the space with light, as is often the case. The build also makes use of large skylights and full length windows to bring quite a lot of natural light into the box.

I’ve tried to decorate as a sort of combined work/home space for an architect or engineer. There are some metal pieces here but also quite a lot of modern style wood sets, particularly from End of Daze, that soften the space quite a bit.

Almost all the fashion shown (and the hair from Exile) is from this month’s Mens Dept round, which ends this weekend. If you haven’t been yet, go check it out for lots of nice deals for men (plus some unisex stuff and furniture) before the July rounds rolls in.

Make some noise

It’s almost spring and love is in the air, or maybe not cause it doesn’t feel like spring where I am. But with this endless winter drawing to a close it’s time to make some noise – and that’s what I’m doing thanks to Balaclava‘s cool drums that you can pick up at the Arcade (75l per play). For those who don’t want to try their hand at the Arcade (or are afraid of blowing all their lindens), yard sales are a good alternative. Two well-organized gacha sales with most of what you could want are found here or here.

The Energy Club has been making noise for three years now and to celebrate they have a mess of gifts out. That’s where I got this excellent mesh outfit from D-Style (matching gift for women) as well as the couch from End of Daze (2nd pic), which I previously blogged but now you can get it free. Go check out the club and grab some gifts while you are there.

Also making noise is LaVie. The skin here is a recent group gift (unfortunately no longer available), but I’m told LaVie has a number of projects in the works including new skin releases, group gifts and perhaps a hunt or two. They have recently reopened in a revamped urban style shopping area with a number of top shops. Good to see they are back and bustling again.

Lavender Dreams

Monochrome Hunts is back with their latest color-themed hunt, the Lavender Hill Hunt, and like usual there is a nice mix of fashion & decor items to be had. I’m tardy showing the gifts – the hunt officially ends on Mar 10 – but you still have time to get the things you want (note gifts cost 5l). Check the hunt blog for previews of most of the items.

Some of my favorite furniture gifts include [Circa’s] coffee table and pouf set. The coffee table comes in two versions and contains a fascinating miniature garden with butterflies. Breno‘s bunny chair will also make you smile and is perfect for the season. On the fashion side, Epicosity‘s Mesh suit is a must for men and Immerse has a lovely purple Mesh dress that pairs perfectly with the necklace gift from Sigma Jewels.

My female model here features a great combination of a Shape It Up! shape found at the Free*Style store for just 10l and a gift skin from Deesse’s. The male is the same Kirk skin from Essences I blogged last time– it’s so nice I haven’t wanted to take it off- here combined with Step Inside‘s shape from the SYSP anniversary hunt. Note that the SYSP anniversary hunt has lots of good gifts for women (see the last pic for one of the outfits). Modularity

My last post on Four Walls concentrated on some of the rustic items, the grungy even. This time I wanted to feature the more modern gifts – those with clean lines and often modular in concept. Pieces such as Scarlet Creative‘s shelving units (the gift includes numerous versions that you can mix and match) or Breno‘s reading nook (part of a future modular series), work perfectly in Circa‘s “Infinity Cloud” Glass Studio from the hunt, which has cubed rooms off a main living space,  skylights with metallic highlights and panoramic glass windows (Mesh, 29 land impact). Four Walls goes to the end of the month and previews can be seen on the hunt website.

I’m wearing Diego, the new Mesh head from CheerNo, which is on sale at TDR Fusion until Feb 1. In a sense, with these mesh add-ons, be they heads, breasts, hands, feet or other appendages, the avi itself becomes modular, a base to which components can be added or subtracted at will depending on needs. CheerNo’s head is interesting and can give a very realistic effect, but the lack of facial expressions can be a drawback. Some new releases shown below include Mens Dept items, a great shirt from HuHu (available with texture change hud) and an outfit from Apple May Designs, which is marking the opening of its new mens store with everything 50% off just this weekend (the AMD hoodie shown below is available in a different color free in store). Update: was free just for the weekend.
