Goodbye to Summer

As much as I like football and pumpkins and bobbing for apples, I’m not quite ready to give up Summer just yet. Thankfully it’s always Summer somewhere, especially in SL, and Flow‘s excellent boardshorts and retro swim suits from this month’s Mens Dept (ends Sep 30) provide a nice excuse to ignore the season and enjoy some SL rays. The boardshorts have a texture-change band and like the swim suits are available with liquid-mesh sizing in a range of colors and at an attractive price.

The avis feature skins by (Red)Sand (previously bogged here) and a recent gift from Aeva with shapes by Novus and Shape it Up. Hair is from Alli & Ali (including a current group gift), where numerous styles are on sale for 50l through the end of the month.

Come Shine

I wanted to feature some of the gifts from the Homestuff hunt before it ends on Sep 2 along with a nice build from Designer Prims I’ve had in inventory for a while. Tekila already blogged Circa‘s Homestuff gift below … here are a few more gifts from that hunt including items from domus, Johadez & Cleo Design. The complete hunt line-up is found here.

The Designer Prims build is all Mesh with a land impact of just 28 prims including the removable room divider bookcase. It features texture-change walls and floors and in this case full-length windows running the entire frontage with shutters that can be turned on or off by clicking a switch. There are two large living areas, an exterior deck and, as you might guess, the light is great. The house is designed for small lots but is still quite roomy and would also work fine as a skyloft.  Perhaps best of all, the house is available on marketplace for just 99l.

The Shop

A few pics today featuring Never Totally Dead‘s cool “Old Shop” build from the Room 326 hunt, which is a fun little hunt with some excellent gifts (see the hunt website for details). Delicious

Tomorrow is the end of the Femboy hunt and I couldn’t let the occasion go by without concocting a little something delicious. Aeva has a great skin/shape combo in the hunt (includes all tones), perfect for showing your more feminine side, although I suspect the skin would work well with other shapes. I’m wearing the A:S:S: gift from the hunt, which would probably, ahem, look equally good on women and the hair is a “survey” gift from Chichikee! (includes multiple tones and female hair as well). To get the hair gift, all you have to do is answer a few questions from the survey machine located in-store. It takes a minute and is well worth it. Update: Chichikee! owner Chiana Meredith had actually just removed the survey from her store, but will put it back out only through the weekend  – so show her some love guys (Chichikee! also has MMs and freebies located in the basement discount section).

Four Walls and a host of other hunts also end tomorrow. If you haven’t gotten Sway’s gift yet, take a break from shopping and treat yourself to a cupcake.
