California Bungalow Pt.2

Since it’s hard to let go of that California style, here are a few more shots in and around L&K Prefab‘s Blue Bungalow from the April edition of the Challenge that I blogged a few weeks back. Sun, surf, wine and outdoor showers seem mighty appealing after an endless Winter and now cold, dreary Spring in my neck of the woods.

Clothing in the post is from two current hunts: Men Only Hunt 3 and the You’ve Been Tangoed Hunt. For the guys, Men Only Hunt is not to be missed. Missqwerty and the Flair for Events team have brought a great selection of designers to the third edition of MOH and I’ll have more from that hunt in a later post. For the women, You’ve Been Tangoed has over 40 stores with gifts for 1l all with Tango appliers. Hints and the store line-ups for both hunts can be found on the websites.

The hair in the first two pics is a new subscriber gifty free from Miss C. Slap the subscriber in-store to receive a complete fatpack of the Nana style and if you join the group you can get new fatpack gifts for both men & women (joiner fee of 30l for the group). The female skin is a recent release from Aeva (shape by Anna Shapes), but there is also a new group gift skin available in-store (group free to join) and a special event underway with discounted items to raise money so Aeva’s owner, Amesha Jewell, can keep creating. California Bungalow

The Challenge is a monthly event organized by Bauwerk and L&K Prefabs where participating builders have to create an object to fit a randomly generated theme. The second round theme this month is California Bungalow – maybe not the most exotic, but there are some nice items from the participants that should appeal to many (previews can be seen on the website).

The fashion here features great casual items from American Bazaar (including one hunt gift), an excellent free male shape found on MP, new release jeans from KlubWerK (check out the store for a whole bunch of group gifts), more from Mens Dept and BSD Design Studio‘s cute shoes/bag combination from Kawaii Fair (many freebies to be found at the various stands there as well). Delicious

Tomorrow is the end of the Femboy hunt and I couldn’t let the occasion go by without concocting a little something delicious. Aeva has a great skin/shape combo in the hunt (includes all tones), perfect for showing your more feminine side, although I suspect the skin would work well with other shapes. I’m wearing the A:S:S: gift from the hunt, which would probably, ahem, look equally good on women and the hair is a “survey” gift from Chichikee! (includes multiple tones and female hair as well). To get the hair gift, all you have to do is answer a few questions from the survey machine located in-store. It takes a minute and is well worth it. Update: Chichikee! owner Chiana Meredith had actually just removed the survey from her store, but will put it back out only through the weekend  – so show her some love guys (Chichikee! also has MMs and freebies located in the basement discount section).

Four Walls and a host of other hunts also end tomorrow. If you haven’t gotten Sway’s gift yet, take a break from shopping and treat yourself to a cupcake.

The Lodge

I’ve wanted to feature Scarlet Creative’s Noelle Chalet for a while now. This lovely small house has an interesting mix of raw wood, exposed beams and glass with a modern twist and is available at a great price (50l unfurnished, 199l furnished). Beautifully furnished, the build was intended as a rustic mountain getaway and looks great surrounded by snow, but some of the design elements made me think it could also work well as a small hunting lodge, perhaps on the plains of Africa. I’ll show more of the build in a later post – if you are interested in seeing a demo though, follow the beacon from the landing point to the teleporter that takes you to Scarlet Creative’s discount area.

Some of the female clothes here are free gifts from the opening of the Zenshi Shopping district. Many of the stores there had gifts out, but they may not be available for much longer (in fact, the Faster Pussycat dress gift shown below seems to have been removed, but a different version was available for free at the time of publication). Also like every month there are some great items at Mens Dept – I particularly like gO‘s Morten pants and the unisex sweater from Sleepy Eddy – so don’t miss it (ends February 1).
